Kagoshima City is located on the southern tip of the island of Kyushu in Japan and is the political, economic and cultural center of Kagoshima Prefecture. The city is known for its magnificent natural beauty and rich historical heritage and is an important tourist destination in the Kyushu region.
Kagoshima City is situated on the shore of Kinko Bay, across the sea from Sakurajima, an active volcano. The climate is subtropical, with warm winters and rainy summers, and the average annual temperature is about 18℃. Kagoshima is the transportation hub of southern Kyushu, with an international airport and a Shinkansen station.
