Mashan, Heilongjiang, China: A place where ecology and industry merge in the Jixi Municipal Jurisdiction
Mashan District is a district of Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province, China, located in the southeastern part of Heilongjiang Province and the western foothills of Wanda Mountain, which is a low mountainous and hilly terrain, with a total area of about 460 square kilometers and a population of about 100,000 people. The climate is temperate continental monsoon with four distinct seasons, high forest coverage and excellent ecological environment. The economy is dominated by agriculture (soybeans, corn), forestry and coal industry, which is an important energy and agricultural products base in Jixi City. The city is rich in tourism resources, including the Mashan Resistance League Memorial Hall (a red cultural site), the Yuanfeng Mountain Scenic Area (a natural landscape) and the Longhu Reservoir, combining historical heritage and natural scenery. The local area is a blend of northeastern folklore, and is a small and beautiful city to experience the ecological and industrial culture that characterizes the Longjiang River.
