Malvast is a historic city in Isfahan Province in central Iran, located on an arid plateau at the eastern foot of the Zagros Mountains, about 150 kilometers from the provincial capital, Isfahan. Known for its ancient agricultural traditions and distinctive mud-brick architecture, the city dates back to the Sassanid period and was once an important trading post on the Silk Road. Malvast has a dry climate with hot summers and cold winters, and its economy is largely dependent on agriculture, especially the cultivation of saffron, wheat and fruits.
