Marion Junction is an unincorporated community in Dallas County, Alabama, United States, located in the south-central region of the state. It is situated near the Alabama River, about 50 miles (80 km) west of the state capital, Montgomery, and about 15 miles (24 km) south of the city of Selma. The area has historically had a predominantly agricultural economy, particularly cotton farming, and is closely tied to the agricultural traditions of Alabama's Black Belt.
The community takes its name from the nearby city of Marion and the historic railroad junction. The area is sparsely populated and characterized by a rural landscape surrounded by expansive farmland and natural beauty. Close to a number of historic sites and nature preserves, Marion-Chaptersham offers visitors the opportunity to learn about the history and ecology of rural Alabama.
