Introduction to Kabul, Afghanistan
Kabul is the capital and largest city of Afghanistan, located in the Kabul Valley in the eastern part of the country, at an altitude of about 1,800 meters above sea level, with a population of about 5 million. As the political, economic and cultural center of Afghanistan, Kabul's history dates back more than 3,500 years and was once an important hub of the Silk Road. The city blends Persian, Islamic and modern elements and boasts historical sites such as the Kabul Museum and Babur Gardens. In recent years, Kabul has faced war and reconstruction challenges, but remains the center of education, commerce and transportation in Afghanistan. The climate is continental, with cold, snowy winters and warm, dry summers.
