Introduction to Chongyi, Jiangxi, China
Chongyi County is located in the southwestern part of Jiangxi Province in China, belonging to the city of Ganzhou, and is situated at the junction of Gan, Guangdong and Hunan provinces, with a total area of 2,206 square kilometers. With a predominantly subtropical monsoon climate and 88.3% forest coverage, Chongyi is a famous "green ecological county" in China, with natural landscapes such as the Yangmingshan National Forest Park and Qiyunshan National Nature Reserve.
History and Culture
Chongyi was established in 1517 at the request of the Ming Dynasty philosopher Wang Yangming, and the name of the county means "honoring propriety and righteousness". Hakka culture is the mainstay of the area, preserving unique dialects, food and folk traditions such as Hakka songs and festivals.
